Our play selection committee chose this version as a safer alternative to the usual very large cast for the show, due to the COVID situation. We will take all precautions to keep our cast safe. In addition to the small cast size, masking will be required when social distancing is not possible.
Due to the high rate of COVID-19 transmission at this time, the JCCT board has made the decision to require all members of the cast and crew to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. A statement from the board of directors reads, “A tremendous amount of effort goes into our productions. In addition to the work of the actors and director, set building, costuming, and technical aspects of the show require much time and effort. It would be heartbreaking for those involved to have to cancel a show at the last minute after all this work because a member of our production team was infected with COVID or had to quarantine. (CDC rules currently state that vaccinated individuals in close contact with COVID do not need to quarantine if asymptomatic.) We have made this decision in order to protect the health of our volunteer actors and crew, and to ensure a successful, safe, and enjoyable experience for our patrons at the beginning of the Christmas season.
To any unvaccinated person who was hoping to participate in the show, the board regrets the necessity for this requirement, and wants to assure you that the decision is for this show only. Restrictions for future shows will depend on the situation at that time, and we sincerely hope that you will be able to join us in a production when the COVID situation improves.”
